Greg and Greg's Waterfront Wedding at Beachwood Resort: Two Grooms (G2) Plus their Groomsgregs Equals a Gregal Party
Did you get all that? I bet you didn't think this was going to be about math, did you? But this is the best kind: an equation about true love, friendship, passion, and of course, fireworks.
From my first contact with Greg and Greg (the Gregories, the two Gregs, G2), I knew this was going to be a special wedding celebration. Even the planning notes we exchanged prior to the wedding day were full of creativity, humour, puns, and simply bursting with their personalities. Rarely do you see a couple this invested in making their wedding day not only perfect, but their very own. How many couples do you know who print their very own newspaper in honour of their wedding celebration?
September 23 was supposed to be a fall day, but we were met with bright blue skies and 30 degree temperatures, a summer gift for these two charming grooms. In front of Buckhorn Lake, with their Groomsgregs beside them and their friends and families watching, the Gregorys were married in a beautiful waterfront ceremony. As they walked down the aisle hand in hand, they did so through a sea of sparkling bubbles.
At the evening reception, where decorations inspired by Lego and math puzzles adorned the tables, guests were treated to an incredible variety of speeches. I think it's worth noting that on this night I heard probably the most impassioned and then later, the funniest two speeches I have heard as a wedding photographer. For these speeches to occur on the same evening, speaks to the energy that was in the air that day and to the kind of friends and families these two grooms have. The evening's speeches were perhaps only equaled by the twilight fireworks display and, later, by the incredibly creative dance moves that only the evening hours of a wedding can inspire. Thank you Gregs, it was a pleasure!
